  • How does my membership support Historic Tuscaloosa?

Membership dues provide essential support for Historic Tuscaloosa’s preservation, education, and community engagement efforts. Funds from memberships help maintain and restore historic properties such as the Battle-Friedman House, Jemison-Van de Graaff Mansion, and other landmarks under Historic Tuscaloosa’s care. Membership support also sustains guided tours, school field trips, lectures, and public programs that connect visitors of all ages to local history. In addition, dues help offset operational costs, allowing the organization to keep historic sites accessible and welcoming. Members form the backbone of Historic Tuscaloosa’s financial stability, providing reliable funding that supports both day-to-day needs and long-term preservation planning. By becoming a member, you are investing directly in protecting Tuscaloosa’s heritage and ensuring these historic spaces continue to serve the community.
